This place isn’t just a theater; it’s a legend that’s been part of the city’s soul for decades. Imagine catching a band or a comedy show and feeling the vibes from a venue that recently paid tribute to its roots with a fresh facelift in 2018. It’s got this cool mix of old-school charm and modern flair, especially with its classic façade shining bright again. In 2019, the NH Film Society even recognized The Rex for its big role in boosting local film culture, which is kind of a big deal. During the pandemic, the theater got creative, hosting art exhibits in its lobby to help out local artists and keep the arts alive. The venue is super accessible too, with thoughtful seating arrangements so everyone can enjoy the shows without a hitch. Oh, and if you’re into the scenery, you can even spot The Rex from the nearby river crossing, and it’s a proud stop on the city’s heritage walk.
